Stay Connected

Life will take on new meaning. To watch people recover, to see them help others, to watch loneliness vanish, to see a fellowship grow up about you, to have a host of friends—this is an experience you must not miss

The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, pg. 89

Since opening in 2017, Heartwood Recovery has built a robust alumni network throughout Austin. Our residents integrate into this support system during treatment and maintain lifelong connections with men who continue to experience freedom from addiction.
The alumni program ensures that the fellowship and support you found during treatment continues long after you complete our program. Recovery doesn’t end at discharge—it’s a lifelong journey, and our alumni community walks alongside you every step of the way.

Milestone Dinners

We celebrate individual alumni milestones for various lengths of sobriety! These celebrations honor your hard work, acknowledge your progress, and inspire others in the community. Whether you’re celebrating 30 days, one year, or multiple years of sobriety, your milestones matter and deserve recognition.

Why Alumni Support Matters

The transition from treatment back to everyday life presents challenges. Having a strong alumni network provides:

Continued Accountability

Regular check-ins and meetings help you stay focused on your recovery goals.

Fellowship and Connection

Relationships with other men in recovery provide understanding and support that's difficult to find elsewhere.

Opportunities for Service

Giving back by helping others reinforces your own recovery and builds purpose.

Celebration of Success

Sharing your victories with people who understand the journey makes achievements more meaningful.

Safety Net During Struggles

When challenges arise, your alumni community provides immediate support from people who've been there.

Long-Term Recovery Community

The bonds formed during treatment and maintained through alumni involvement often last a lifetime.

Get Involved

Whether you completed treatment last week or years ago, the Heartwood Recovery Alumni Program welcomes you. Stay connected, give back, celebrate your recovery, and support others on their journey.
