At Heartwood Recovery, we understand that recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our treatment programs provide a complete continuum of care specifically designed for men struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. With a small census of 18 clients maximum, we deliver deep individualized support that larger facilities simply cannot provide.
Our approach combines trauma-informed care with evidence-based treatment and 12-Step methodology. What sets us apart is clinical frequency—our clients receive 2–3 individual therapy sessions per week compared to the industry standard of 1. This intensive support, paired with our male-specific community environment, creates the foundation for lasting recovery.
24/7 structured support in a safe, healing environment where men can focus entirely on recovery. Our residential program provides the foundation with intensive clinical care, daily therapy, trauma integration, and community connection on our 3-acre South Austin property.
Residential treatment offers complete immersion in recovery with around-the-clock support from our care team. From morning to night, residents engage in individual sessions, group therapy, 12-Step work, fitness activities, and skill-building designed to create lasting change. Community integration is built into the program through both on-campus and off-campus activities that help men practice their recovery tools in real-world settings.
Flexible treatment for men who are returning to work or school while maintaining their recovery. Our outpatient program provides continued clinical support with weekly groups, individual therapy, and relapse prevention planning in a structured yet adaptable format.
OP is ideal for men stepping down from PHP or for those in stable early recovery who need ongoing support without full-day programming. The schedule allows clients to balance recovery work with employment, education, and family responsibilities while staying connected to our clinical team and peer community.
Structured sober housing in Downtown Austin that bridges the gap between treatment and independent living. Our transitional living program provides accountability, peer support, and continued clinical connection in an upscale environment designed for men in early recovery.
With a maximum capacity of 8 clients and a live-in property manager, our transitional living home offers high-touch support during a critical phase of recovery. Residents benefit from house meetings, drug testing, daily structure, and proximity to both our residential campus and downtown Austin. Length of stay is typically 1–2 months, and our team assists with the next transition, whether that’s moving to sober living or returning home.
Lifelong connection, support, and accountability for men who have completed treatment at Heartwood Recovery. Our alumni program includes regular meetings, peer mentorship opportunities, and ongoing access to our recovery community.
Founded in 2017, we’ve built a robust alumni network throughout Austin and beyond. Alumni stay connected through regular gatherings, service opportunities, and continued involvement with current clients. This network provides long-term support and living proof that recovery works.
We treat substance use as the primary issue, providing specialized care for alcohol, opiates, stimulants, benzodiazepines, and other substances. Our focus remains on addiction treatment with the clinical depth necessary for lasting recovery.
Our programs provide the daily structure that creates stability in early recovery. From scheduled therapy sessions to fitness activities and 12-Step work, we help men rebuild healthy routines and develop accountability within a supportive community.
We can treat mild mental health conditions like anxiety and depression that commonly accompany addiction. For high-acuity mental health cases, we provide appropriate referrals to ensure clients receive specialized care.
While we welcome men at various stages of readiness, we require at least a sense of willingness. We don't typically accept "forced to be here" situations because genuine engagement is essential for recovery success.
Our clients receive 2–3 individual therapy sessions per week compared to the industry standard of 1. This increased clinical frequency allows for deeper work, faster progress, and stronger therapeutic relationships.
Gender-specific treatment creates space for authentic vulnerability and connection. Men work through issues specific to male experiences, build genuine brotherhood, and develop accountability within a community that understands their journey.
We integrate trauma-informed care throughout our programs, recognizing that unresolved trauma often underlies addiction. Our clinicians are trained to help men process trauma safely while building the coping skills necessary for long-term recovery.
Recovery happens in connection. Our small census creates genuine community where men know each other, support each other, and hold each other accountable. This sense of belonging extends through our alumni network, providing lifelong connection.
We're a boutique treatment center, not a corporate operation focused on capacity. Our 3-acre South Austin campus provides an intimate setting where quality matters more than numbers. Every client receives personalized attention from admission through aftercare.
