We understand that making that first phone call can be overwhelming. Our goal is to help alleviate some of the pressure and stress you are facing during this crucial time. Our team is here to support you or your loved one in any way we can. Admitting that you are struggling with addiction and deciding to get help is the most crucial step in recovery. It can be intimidating to acknowledge there is a problem in your life and to ask for support, but this is one of the bravest things you can do.

The Admissions Process

You and/or your loved one will collaborate with our team to determine if Heartwood Recovery is the best fit. Here’s what to expect:

Initial Phone Call

When you reach out, you’ll speak with a member of our admissions team who understands what you’re going through. This is an informational conversation where you can ask questions and get answers about our program without any pressure or commitment.

Clinical Assessment

The next step is to complete an assessment over the phone designed to gather more information. This helps us determine if you or your loved one can be medically cleared for the residential level of care we provide.

Medical Detox Coordination (If Needed)

If deemed medically necessary, we may refer you or your loved one to complete medical detoxification at an outside facility prior to coming to Heartwood. We work closely with several detox facilities in the Austin area. Once medical detox is complete, we will facilitate a door-to-door transfer from the detox facility to our residential campus.

Insurance Verification

Our admissions team will verify your insurance coverage and explain your financial options during the initial consultation.

Admission

Once everyone is aligned, we schedule your placement and begin your recovery journey.

At Heartwood Recovery, we are in-network with several insurance providers. We can also facilitate helping you explore out-of-network benefits. If you are looking to utilize insurance for residential treatment, or have questions regarding program cost, please call our admissions line to discuss in detail.

We also work with out-of-network benefits when clients have coverage and can pay their out-of-pocket costs.

Who We Serve

Heartwood Recovery provides inpatient residential treatment, transitional living, and PHP program for men only, 18+ years of age.
We provide highly individualized care for men struggling with substance abuse issues and trauma, as well as co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Our Program Is Best Suited For

  • Men 18 and older
  • Individuals with substance use disorders as the primary concern
  • Those with mild to moderate co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Men who are willing and ready to engage in treatment
  • Clients who have completed medical detox (if needed) or can be safely admitted
If our team determines that Heartwood Recovery is not the best fit for you or your loved one, we will provide you with resources and referrals to other facilities or programs that may better fit your needs. Our priority is ensuring you receive the right level of care, even if that means referring you elsewhere.

Director of Compliance & Human Resources

With over 19 years in behavioral healthcare, Megan has led admissions, operations, compliance, and HR for adolescent and adult programs. She holds a Diploma in Alcohol and Drug Counseling Studies and graduated with honors from Chapman University with a BA in Communication Studies. Megan is a member of Lambda Pi Eta and a SHRM Certified Professional. She has developed multiple treatment start-ups and assisted existing facilities with strategic expansion, achieving licensure, certification, and accreditation.
